Employee Benefits

All regular, full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible for all benefits listed below. 

Seasonal employees who are expected to work 20 or more hours per week for 5 months or longer are eligible for medical, dental, and vision.

PERSI Information

Employees who work (20) twenty or more hours per week (with the exception of seasonal employees) become active members on their date of hire. The City will take a percentage of your salary each pay period. The City contributes into the plan for eligible employees as follows:

Voluntary Retirement - 401K & 457

Employees may contribute 1-100% of gross salary to one or both accounts. To support retirement saving efforts, the City of Meridian contributes a percentage match of up to 2% for either pre-tax account for all regular full-time employees. 

Vacation and Sick Leave

Sick leave is earned at 8 hours per month.

Vacation is earned at the following rate:

  • 1-2 years of service → 12.00 hours monthly
  • 3-4 years of service → 12.50 hours monthly
  • 5-6 years of service → 13.00 hours monthly
  • 7-8 years of service → 13.50 hours monthly
  • 9-10 years of service → 14.00 hours monthly
  • 11-12 years of service → 14.50 hours monthly
  • 13-14 years of service 15.00 hours monthly
  • 15-16 years of service 15.50 hours monthly
  • 17-18 years of service → 16.00 hours monthly
  • 19-20 years of service → 16.50 hours monthly
  • 21-22 years of service 17.00 hours monthly
  • 23-24 years of service 17.50 hours monthly
  • 25 plus years of service → 18.00 hours monthly
